    unable to opt out

I wanna leave insider program, but on my PC i'm unable to opt out.

So is it possible to put a valid W10 key and go back to stable without starting from scratch?

I don't understand why you can't opt out. Go to Settings. Update & Security>Windows Update> advanced options and click on "stop insider Builds". Please explain why you can't opt out?

Well, the latest insider build expires July 15, 2016. So if the OP opts out without having build 10240 installed, what happens in July 2016 when the insider build expires? Is that what you mean, Joshy?

And that in no way explains why it is that you cannot opt out. That just tells us why you want to. JohnC did not ask WHY you would want to opt out. He asked what was keeping you from opting out.

You don't need to enter a key IF you have first upgraded from Win 8/7. Secondly, if you want to 'opt-out', you need to install the RTM build 10240 (i guess that's what you mean by "go back to stable") You CANNOT stay on a build past 10240 and opt-out. You will have to start from scratch unless you have a backup of build 10240 complete with personal settings/apps that showed it was activated.
