I'm having this issue now. Everytime I change ring from disabled to WIF it reverts back and Windows Update is always wants to reboot to check preview builds

Which build are you running jmsnyc?

The HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost subkeys and registry values have changed and grown considerably in the most recent builds since I started this thread.

Thanks for responding. My issue was I was stuck on build 10240 which is why I wanted to try and force insider updates. I am using Windows Education so I was not able to upgrade via Media Creation tool ISOs as that is only for Home and Pro. I managed to get the current Education ISO and upgraded via that and the issue went away.

As you probably see from all the activity here is with the retail builds - Home and Pro - rather than Enterprise or Education, which are released as stable builds 10240 and 10586, I believe, and not like the Insider program preview builds which are likely to have bugs and unresolved issues.
