Ah.. you really expect someone who just uses their PC for say email/Facebook and the like will take the time to read/understand how to use that and post their specs for that they perceive as a simple question??
Those types of users would like not even be using Windows 10 but I will concede that it is not necessary to use that feature.

There are numerous programs that can inform users what they are using such as Speccy, SIV, SIW and many other ways. Just look HEREaybe someone will read this and learn something??
Those having problems will probably not ever see this thread, much less your post. :) If they even open the thread, all they're going to see is what the OP posted:

A lot of posts here refer to problems with insider builds - fine - but please mention the build number in the title, or first line of the post if referring to another build where the same issue occurs. Otherwise it's just another bunch of cross postings.
And, guess what!? I've asked which build the problem child is using, and most of them don't even know! They actually just let the Insider Program automatically update their computers! I've even asked which operating system they want to upgrade from and they don't even know what that is.

In my support of folks in my subdivision, I find the same thing holds true; most people just do not know what's inside their machines; neither the OS, nor the specs!

Great idea, Fafhrd. Posting it in our system specs is another.

As a suggestion, perhaps you can write a mini tutorial and contact admin to place it as a sticky in this section?

There are many stupid people that use computers. As I said it was just a suggestion. The system Specs were included in this forum for a reason, If members choose not to fill them out, I will not ask them what they are using as in the final analysis, it is Windows 10 which is a piece of software. What it is running on to some here does not seem to matter.

Seems a good idea - just had a look and it seems almost everyone is putting the build in the title (when it is relevant to the question). Seems your thread worked :)

It's definitely a good idea, but human nature being what it is . . .

Maybe we can still put our heads together and see if we can come up with something good. I'll start with this:

Someone suggested a "sticky"; If we create one, where would we put it?

With the three other ones at the top here I would say: Windows Insider - Windows 10 Forums

Oh! :) I was thinking of a broader nature of things, but you started me thinking outside the box again . . .

If we were to have a "sticky" at the beginning of General, and go on down the line until we finally get to Windows Insider.

Each Sticky would need to be a little different in order for those helping to know as much as possible about the problem.

StarFerret just brought me her thinking hat! Such a helpful little critter.
