There is nothing new with Cortana, so you are doing fine where you are.

Microsoft stated before that build 10525 and onwards are only available for Insiders who upgraded from a genuine Windows 7/8/8.1 to Windows 10 RTM build 10240. In other words, if your insider/RTM build 10240 installation is an evaluation copy, you wont receive insider build 10525 and above. You can try downloading unofficial ISO of build 10532, it's around the internet.

Every preview builds has expiration since Microsoft do not expect people to use the preview version for a long time because of bugs and glitches, only the consumer released builds will become retail. But still, Microsoft only allows genuine Windows 10 users at the meantime to enter Insider program starting with build 10525.

Since when, I updated automatically from 10240 to 10525 just fine ? Been insider ever since the beginning without upgrading from 8/7.

I signed up for the Inside Program once again at the start of the year but only got so far running an early build on a VM only and since have logged in but haven't found anything available and have held off trying to replace the present 10240 installs on two systems by not enabling the Getting started option since I need to keep both in normal operation.

As far looking around the web for builds be prepared to find some laced with malwares! Back when people were jumping on 7 leaks before the retail launch they were warned ahead of time! I put a few to the test and discovered unmovable files suspecting some type of malware lacing on few examined and still will advise only to go through MS directly!

Since they released build 10525: "Windows 10 Insider Preview is intended to be installed on genuine Windows 10 devices – before upgrading to Windows 10 Insider Preview Builds or reinstalling Windows 10 please ensure your device is activated."

You maybe one of the lucky Insiders who got their Insider build converted to retail copy when they released build 10240. It also happened on one of my machine that doesn't have genuine Windows 7/8/8.1. My other test machine is not so lucky, it remained as an evaluation copy and not getting any newer insider builds.

Makes sure that you're on the Fast ring. (Windows update>advanced). Then manually run Windows update a few times (it took a few WU runs for the build to show up on my machine after changing the flight ring to Fast). Also make sure that you do NOT have defer upgrades (updates?) selected.

Jairus24 has an interesting point, but I think that's just MS marketing to get people to upgrade. It would be incredulous if MS forced people to upgrade just to evaluate Wn10 or participate in the Technical Preview.

The key point might be activation. There are no Preview Keys that I know of.

If you are already on the Fast ring and signed on with your MS account (login.live.com) or signed into the Store app or signed into the Insider Hub app ... and you're still not getting preview builds offered, then I would contact MS (Contact Support app) and ask them how you can activate the Tech Preview Build so you can get 10.0.532.

If you can't find the Insider Hub app on your PC

Follow these steps to install it:
    1. Press the WinKey [ ] and type the word Settings, then select Settings.
(there's no input box until you start typing)
    2. Select System > Apps & features.
    3. Select Manage optional features > Add a feature.
    4. Scroll down the alphabetical list and select Insider Hub, and then select Install.

Cortana might not support your native language though - I'm not up to speed on what languages are supported, maybe only English.
