Windows 10 upgrade and installation FAQ: We figured out who pays and who doesn't
The ISO didn't work for me. I downloaded the ISO file, created a DVD and then inserted the DVD and the pop up claims that I need a 64 bit version. I was very careful when I downloaded that ISO, I chose English, Home Edition and 64 bit. I am doing it again right now to see if the next ISO file is in anyway different than the first one I downloaded. By the way, the first one is only 2.41 gb, so maybe it is the wrong one.
well what a bummer, apparently because I didn't have W10 installed before the upgrade (Nvidia drivers crashed 10240) I don't qualify for a free upgrade, so fresh installs don't work, and you don't get a free key unless you have w10 already installed.
so, as an early adopter of win10 tech preview on dual boot, I get rewarded with a slap in the face....

I would like to keep win7 on dual boot for compatibility, I'm not upgrading, might have to buy the key.
If you are an insider, you don't need any keys, should be enough to sign in with MSA. Unfortunately, those server are temporally (I hope) turned off.
