sportster,
First impressions (Pro Gamer best build '21).
I Applied the install.esd to a VHD and Added it to my BCD. The complete setup took less than 5 minutes. loll
The Good:
1 - Very small footprint: less than 7GB installation 1.2GB Ram used with 37-40 processes after installation. got up to 77-80 and 1.4GB used with all drivers properly installed.
2 - Automatic setup of a local Admin account connected or not to the internet. you can then create local users.
3 - While there no activation facility. The services Remains unaltered and Genuine activation Works. using slui and slmgr
4- GPEdit works in all versions.
5 - Disk activity is nearly null at rest.
6 - Powershell, Windows management works,
7 - Windows Defender Antivirus is completely Absent.
8 - The setup is clean of malware. (nothing detected with 3 offline AVs)
The Bad:
1 - While it is supposed to be a "Pro Gamer edition", It misses a lot of common "Pro Gamers" tweaks.
2 - Some of these are a little counter productive. But it can all be fixed.
3 - Virtual memory is disabled, had to correct that.
4 - I had to use a script to remove some remaining Telemetry elements
The Ugly:
1 - Windows Update is completely disabled and absent.
2 - There is No Antivirus protection at all. So you rely on your knowledge to keep your installation secure. and use a third party one.
Conclusion:
A lovable light weight Windows with
really all the bloat removed. It feels and runs like Windows 7.
I like it it has a pretty broad line of uses it can be harnessed to do. And would probably be pretty good for low power machines.
