Are you signed up as a fast ring insider under Advanced Options of Windows Update under Settings?

Follow your instructions and can't sign up as this part gray out under " Get Started " Guess that is too late for me to sign up.

There is a difference between new builds and normal Windows updates:

Normal updates will just be offered to you through WIndows Update, they will be installed and that is it. They will not change the build number and they will not include what Microsoft calls "new builds".

If you however want to test the newest and greatest features, then you might want to join the Microsoft Insider Program and also get new builds. Note that this is not recommended if you really need the PC; new builds - compared to "only" getting updates - have a higher risk of breaking your system.

If you just want to use Windows 10, I recommend not to install new builds. Also if you do not want new builds, you will most likely get the same upgrades at some point in the future as well - once Microsoft has tested with the people in the Insider Program that these are working nicely.

Are you logging in with a Microsoft Account? That might be why the Insider option is disabled, if you are logging in with a local account.

First, build 10240 is the latest released build. 10525 is insider preview. If you really want 10525, you can google for an ISO to download (just make sure it is the correct Home or Pro version and correct 32bit or 64bit). Then do the upgrade from the ISO. To my knowledge Microsoft has not released an official ISO of 10525 so you just hope to get a pure one someone has made from their update ESD file.

Now I see that I didn't sign up before the installment of Windows 10 but I do have my Microsoft account. I am not going to bother to get Microsoft 10 Build 10525. Anyway want to say thank you for your comment about this.

I'm running both builds, dual boot. I don't see any difference. They mentioned something about colors for themes being added in 10525 but believe me it isn't anything earth shattering.

But I do have problems specially related to the presentation of the program (that was better in Windows 8), the title bars are white, the scrollbar is bigger, colors are limited, some warning messages have a fussy out of good shape, and I was wondering a new build would do better, but ok if new build implies risky version...

Opps, I just noticed some Canadian guy hijacked your thread ;-). Maybe 10525 would help you, then. I have not had any stability issues with it, just haven't seen any improvement, but I haven't made any cosmetic changes.
