There`s nothing ground breaking with build 10525, no need to install it, when something ground breaking does happen, we`ll let you know.

Not sure if it`s something a non insider can get, that`s the whole purpose of being an insider, being able to download and preview new builds if you want to.

If someone knows, I`m sure they`ll let you know how to get it.

I got build 10525 on my Gateway because I was running the Technical Preview of 10 on it since day one, and if I wanted to I can download and install new builds.

There is a way to get new builds if you`re running the RTM version, but there are things you have to do in settings. I see no reason to do it if you have not been an insider for the past year.

    @OliverPedro:
In the Windows 10 menu, right click to run Command Promt Admin and paste the following terminal command to see how many issues can be fixed:
    Code:
    sfc /scannow

Did you not understand this in my previous post:

Currently build 10525 is only available to registered Windows Insiders who already have installed build 10240. If you are a Windows Insider, and you have opted in for build upgrades, you will get build 10525. If your underlying Windows 10 build 10240 you are upgrading from is a Home edition, also the upgraded build 10525 will be a Home edition.
There is no new build 10525 for those not being Windows Insiders. Currently it's not even offered for those Insiders who have selected the Slow Ring. Only Fast Ring Insiders can get it at the moment.

Even if you could get the ISO, if you are not an Insider your 10525 would not activate.

You can install MiniTool Partition Wizard Free to split your current Windows partition and create a new partition:
MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com

This is where I got my ISO from, but I see they only have Pro. If you are on a home version now, Pro won't activate:
Download Windows 10 build 10525 ISO images

You can install all your programs on 10525 if you want, or just see if it does what you want and if it doesn't then just stop using it. You can use MiniTool Parition Wizard to reclaim the partition for 10525 back if you want to.
    Hi there

I'm always suspicious when downloads prompt me to use their downloader or to switch browsers.

I'm using IE11 - I LIKE IE11 and it's up to date so what's this B/S about having to use a new browsers --I HATE CHROME and FIREFOX !!!!.

    upgrade to latest build-mega.png

I got the update "Normally" but I really don't like any download that doesn't handle standard browsers or requests you to use "their downloader". This site probably isn't evil but I'd still advise people to avoid using it.

    Cheers

How do you know? Have you tried it as a non-insider? It will activate. At least if there was a previously activated 10240 build on that computer.

You should tell us instead what kind of issues that you have? Does your BIOS version is up-to-date?
Windows Update says my device is up to date. (is that the BIOS?)
    My issues:
    1. Some dialog boxes, or even some applications have a blurry appearance
    2. Title bars are white and very big, scrollbars, menus,
    3. Sometimes applications are not responding and then allow me to continue working
I did not have any problem at Win 8.1 with all things listed above

Should I download that new build?
Should I wait until MS comes with a solution at regular updates of the previous of 10240?
    I'm confused.
    Thanks.

Borrowing your words: How do you know it will activate? Have you tried it as a non-insider?

The problem with spreading false information is that someone could take it as a fact, then proceed to do something based on that false information and only notice it was not valid information when it's too late. That's why you should never state your assumptions and opinions as facts; if you don't know for sure, admit it, don't present what you think of it as a fact.

I had to redo this process now once more only to get the screenshots. Here we go:

Start situation: A valid and activated Windows 8.1 Pro upgraded to Windows 10 Pro (build 10240). Windows 10 is naturally activated because the upgrade was done from a qualifying Windows 8.1. A local user account, no MS accounts present, user is not a Windows Insider. The list item numbers below the screenshot refer to numbers shown in screenshot (click screenshot to enlarge):

    upgrade to latest build-2015-08-25_16h36_49.png

    1. Windows version and build (Build 10240)
    2. Inserted the Windows installation media
    3. Check that the installation media really is build 10525
    4. Setup launched, first telltale that this will not work is the product key dialog (a valid upgrade does not ask a product key)
    5. Windows is activated

As Microsoft has not released a product key for build 10525, the only option is to try the key for build 10240. At this point Setup tells the key works:

    upgrade to latest build-2015-08-25_16h42_59.png

Upgrade from 10240 to 10525 done, first check to see if Windows is activated or not:

    upgrade to latest build-2015-08-25_17h24_28.png

To get more information, let's see what Windows Settings has to say about the activation status:

    upgrade to latest build-2015-08-25_17h27_18.png

Windows has lost it activation because this machine or the user are not entitled to get this build. As I have mentioned before, build 10525 will activate only if a user of build 10240 is a registered Windows Insider and has opted in for build upgrades. Fast ring can upgrade now, slow ring will come most probably within a week or two.

    Dear Oliver,

Did you try the terminal command of post# 24? It seems to me that you have corrupted files.
The BIOS version can be seen there:

    Search Windows/System Information/System Summary/Under BIOS Version/Date

I think for your laptop there at 1.90
Support :: Toshiba :: Computers, Laptops/Notebooks, Tablets, Televisions, DVD and Blu-Ray Players, Camcorders, Storage, Accessories, and more

For the tittle bar that is too large it should be set the way its shown in the screenshot below:
Also, I see that you have a 4K monitor. Play with the screen resolution to see if problems disappear...
Search Windows/Settings/System/Display/Advanced Display Settings/Resolution: Downgrade and/or Upgrade to see what happen. Keep new resolution to see if appearance problems remain.

You won't find any miracle under 10525.

See first if the terminal command can fix something and I do believe it will find many conflicts.

    Take care,
