Hi folks
If you just want '1's in Windows versions of Windows -- for its time Windows 3.11 or even better Windiws 3.11 for Workroups was excellent. !!!!! plus it's got a 3 in it too.
Definitely people been hitting the bottle on this thread though !!.
Mind you Ms missed a trick about not using '4'. 4 is the only number in the set from zero to infinity in the English language where the spelling has the same number of letters (four) as the number of digits it represents (4).
Another "Useless factoid" for you today !!!!

I am trying out Windows 11 right now and I absolutely hate it so far. Without a doubt the worst edition of Windows that Microsoft ever released. I didn't like 8 much but this 11 is light years ahead of 8 at sucking. Once I get this junk off my PC there is no chance on Earth that I will use this trash again.

The changes to date are mosly superficial and, even though I do not really like them, they are not really that important.
When W10 first came out it was not more than W8 with a new GUI.
Over time it developed, and became a far superior product.
Same will happen with W11. Already some decent new features are starting to happen (slower than I would like but that is me).
The new build due soon is a significant improvment over 1st release.
Here is the simple fact: W10 is stagnant - W11 is being developed.
You can whinge about it as much as you like but making a statement "Once I get this junk off my PC there is no chance on Earth that I will use this trash again" is just so typically luddite meh!
Of course, nobody is forcing you to use W11 but if you wish to live in the past, that is your decision, but don't come whinging here in the future that something is broken in W10 (or some app has been updated and no longer works with W10) that will never get fixed once its support period has expired. In time vendors of 3rd party apps will stop supporting W10, as many have done with W7 and to lesser degree W8.

i, to , fre, four, Phive, Sickes, Seavenh or something stupid like thar.
Your letter observation applies in German: vier (4)
French: None!
Danish has: to (2), fire (4).
Italian has: tre (3), cinque (5)
Spanish: cinco (5)
In other words, it is random. More significantly perhaps, it only applies to numbers between 2 and 5. Beyond that names would get cumbersome for simple counting.
Beyound 10, numbers are just combinations, and so could not possibly have same number of letters as the number as that would be ridiculous!
Of course, Danish counting is crazy - literal translation of 59 is
"nine and half three"
half three means 3 minus half as half is before the three i.e. 3-half.
So how do you get 59?
Danish used to count in twenties, so the more literal translation is
nine and (half three) times twenty)
i.e. halvtedje-sinde-tyve
However the time 20 is dropped now in common use.

Maybe back to Roman Numerals -- always amazes me with no decimal point and the most complex numbering system of all "sophisticated societies" their Engineers were usually first class -- water aqueduct systems still functioning etc, concrete (they started using it under water successfully) and zillions of other things modern society takes for granted.
I doubt whether that tower block in W. London that failed in a fire had it been built in Roman times would have failed so spectacularly, or a couple of spectacular Bridge failures in UK and US due to "amplitudes" and harmonic motion with soldiers marching across it in step . Many Roman Bridges are still standing today !!!.

That's why there was never a great Roman Mathematician, in all history.
When the answer to: Three divided by two... Equals, one left one.
But Still at that time everybody was conscious that splitting three loaf of bread in two, you had one and a half bread loaf for each.
So they practically new what was a fraction, but couldn't transpose it in their numeral system.
When you study it a little, it's the most irrational invention of human kind since the dawn of time. It's like a visual representation of "counting on your fingers"
But still, most Europeans used that flawed system for more than1800 years...
That's why the roman empire was so rich
When you had 3 chickens and the empire took "half" of them they where also taking what was "left" in the calculus.
