    21343 Build - Options For New Insider Build?

    I know my PC my not be compatible with Windows 11 (or whatever it will be called), but it is working fine with
    21343. I have read that Secure Boot is needed for Windows 11 + TPM 2.0. but any idea if I could install the new build when it comes out (as an upgrade) ? I know I will probably have to wait to see what the release notes say - just wondering

    I presume if I cannot go to a new build I would have to clean install Windows 10 (?)

    Thanks for any ideas

    Don't worry. So far ALL Windows releases were upgradable to and I don't think this is gonna change. Just like you could upgrade from Vista to 7, from 7 to 8 or to 10...

    Besides, that leaked version is VERY much similar to Windows 10. Definitely is upgradable and I see no reason why they would drop that.

    However, I suggest slowing down. Upgrading a stable system to such a leaked, unreleased version is not a good idea. Wait for the final one.

    I have 2 computers in the Insider Preview Dev program, just might have to consider using one for trying Version 11 if and when. But they may be too old, they go back to the original Technical Preview when I first signed up. Since the IP is not yet stable and in accordance with the warning at the time, neither one is a Production or Only computer in use.

    Thanks - I wasn't considering the 'leaked' build at all Hopefully the next Insider build will allow me to update my current build to it. This time next week I should know.

    @f14tomcat

    Quite aware of the current build. I only install a build when there is a significant, or interesting changes! Paused until around October ....but may give Windows 11 a go when the official insider build, or whatever they are going to call it. Using Macrium it's easy to go back to what I had, so, no issue, but I would not try a leaked build.

    I understand. You're not really an Insider tester. That would make sense then. Cherry pick the builds to play with.

    Now you're up to date. could go for the .1081 optional. You'll get it on PT anyway.

    Most Insiders who have been on DEV should at least be able to Update and install W11 and get a good insight even on older computers according to M$....though with certain limitations.
