    System tray icons disappear!

    Insider Preview 21382 build

With each of the last three build updates my system tray icons disappear!

The only way I could get them back (temporarily) is to add another toobar eg Adress then remove that toolbar after my icons come back.

But they don't stay there for long... maybe 10 minutes.

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks.

The yellowish color of the clock digits is unknown to me in the years using Windows and suggests a third-party software is installed, would that be correct?

    EDIT:

Revisiting this prompted me to look up the Version and Build, appears the Version in use is 2 years old.

    Thanks for responding Berton

The yellow digital clock is one of the themes for Atomic Alarm Clock.

I don't know where you get the idea that I'm running Build 18875.1000.

I said at the start of my post that I'm running Insider Preview 21376 build. That has now been updated to 21382 and the dissappearing system tray icons is still a problem.

The problem most likely is that third-party software Atomic Alarm Clock, have you tried disable or uninstalling it?

The Atomic Clock app??? I've been using that for over 9 years so I can't see why that could be causing a problem now.

I'll uninstall it & see what happens & come back here.

One thing to be aware of is that with Versions Upgrades third-party programs can get broken, generally because they aren't kept in step with the Upgrades and maybe some Build updates. For some time now the "it used to work" isn't a rule, it's not always a fault of Windows and should be reported to the third-party programmers along with reporting it to Windows, else how will it be known there are issues.

I can relate, Berton! I used to use GhostPress [anti keylogger] for some years until I had to remove it because, after X Y Z WU updates, it began to type keyboard characters within all browsers totally unrelated to actual keys pressed. The problem was resolved by removing a utility that had worked for years, however, whatever the cause[s], ceased to work properly after X Y Z WU updates.
