Temporary fix for the OpenSSH client feature install bug [Build 21364]

    Hello

In the Windows Insider Build 21364.1 is currently the bug that the "OpenSSH client" cannot be installed via "Add Feature"

or with PowerShell command: Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name "OpenSSH.Client~~~~0.0.1.0"

The operation fails with error code 0x800f0950 -CBS_E_INVALID_WINDOWS_UPDATE_COUNT.

I then looked up why that happened.

Files for the feature are not copied and installed during Windows installation, but they are available in the Windows image.

For those people who want to install the feature, I am providing the following fix:

The fix is only for build 21364.

Download SFCFix.exe and save this to your Desktop.

Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop too.

Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.

Save any open documents and close all open windows.

On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.

Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.

SFCFix copies the files required for the feature and creates and opens the SFCFix.txt file.

You should get the result shown in the picture.

If so, then close the notepad window.

When done, push the Windows button, type powershell select the option "Run as administrator" and then run the following commands in the PowerShell (Just copy and paste the commands):

    Dism /online /Add-Package /Packagepath:C:\WINDOWS\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-OneCore-OpenSSH-ClientOnly-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.21364.1.mum

    Dism /online /Add-Package /Packagepath:C:\WINDOWS\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-OneCore-OpenSSH-Common-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.21364.1.mum

    Dism /online /Add-Package /Packagepath:C:\WINDOWS\servicing\Packages\OpenSSH-Client-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.21364.1.mum

    Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name "OpenSSH.Client~~~~0.0.1.0"

If you then see this output after the last command, you have successfully installed the OpenSSH client feature:

    Attention:
If you have got the feature installed and for whatever reason you want to temporarily remove it and then add it again, you run into the error again.

Then repeat all of the steps of this fix.

The bug was fixed in build 21370!

    Friendly greetings
