Chrome/Edge Browser Randomly hangs for 20 seconds and then comes back!

Edition Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview
    Version 2004
    Installed on ‎1/‎29/‎2021
    OS build 21301.1010
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 221.501.0.3

I am experiencing a significant problem with the latest build in that both Chrome and Edge randomly freeze for 20ish seconds and then come back to life like nothing happened. Something is seriously wrong but I have found no advice on what the issue is or could be. I've reviewed the Windows logs and the Chrome Browser developer traces but nothing stands out. Anyone have any info on this situation?

Are they doing it with no tabs running?

I have noticed the same issue on Chrome. Similar issue is on Edge (5+ secs loading), thus the reason I abandoned it, it can be fixed by disabling automatic proxy detection, maybe the same will work for Chrome?

Yes, doesn't matter if it one tab or multiple tabs. I saw a post about a DCOM issue but the steps for resolution weren't specific enough to make the change.

Here is the detail regarding the solution for the browser freeze issue

This usually happens when there is insufficient permission given to the CLSID and the APPID. I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to provide the permissions:

Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

Follow the steps to take backup of registry.

Press Windows key + R, to open Run box.

Type regedit and click on OK. This will open Registry editor.

Now, navigate to HKEY_Classes_Root\CLSID\*CLSID that appeared in the error message*.

Right click on the CLSID, click on Permissions and click on Advanced.

Click on Change beside owner, type Administrators, then click Check Names and click on OK.

Click on Add and click on Select a Principal.

Type Administrators, then click Check Names and click on OK.

Click on Full Control and click on OK.

Click Apply and then click OK.

Now, navigate to HKEY_LocalMachine\Software\Classes\AppID\*APPID that appeared in the error message*

Right click on the APPID, and repeat the steps from 4 to 9.
