How dangerous is it to be a 'Dev Channel' insider vs a 'Beta Channel'

Otherwise, what would we run these builds for. I gave actual feedback with examples instead of a pale generic description that I would find in google

IMHO, Without backup images you are at risk no matter what version of Windows you are running. You never know when something could go wrong.

Very true, winuser! A backup is always, always needed!
Just think about the initial rollout of 1709 or 1809 (can't remember which one it was) that corrupted and deleted the documents folder... That one caused harm... Luckily I had a backup so damage was mitigated in hours. And that wasn't even an insider build!

In my honest opinion, Ive been on all Insider channels at some point but in the last couple months I have been using the DEV Builds and yes have had some issues but nothing I cant deal with, what I make sure of is to Create automatic system restore points daily Using the windows Task Manager and I use Aomei Backupper Pro to do Daily FULL backups on a second SSD. oing this will allow you to have the latest and greatest..lol..but at least then your safe and its easy to quickly do a restore point or run the backup file and reinstall that without losing anything the day of or right before the updates as long as your system was running pretty sweet at that time all your restore points or backups were made. Also take note, anytime a new DEV channel update is installed ALL Restore points are deleted so immediately after the updates I run the task scheduler and create a restore point right away. But if the update sucks and blows up your system you can still do a backup restore from your second drive quickly and then just delay windows updates for 7 days and continue to do so until the next update comes out and at that point if you wanna install that one go for it or just click the delay updates for another 7 days, this is what I do and this is just my opinions and options for you.
