Sfc /scannow stuck at 100% verification

No matter what I do sfc /scannow is stuck at 100% verification. I did a clean untouched Windows 10 2004 x64 install. Is it because my HDD supposedly has problems?

    If you suspect your HDD

Please install Crystal Disk Info Standard edition

    CrystalDiskInfo – Crystal Dew World

Once installed click on "Function" tab > Advance Feature > Raw Values > 10[Dec]

This presents error values in decimal amounts.

What is the overall health status of boot disk? Are any of the categories showing a warning? Are you getting seek, write or read errors?

On March 12, 2020, I ran Hard Disc Sentinel and it stated my PC's HDD's (HGST HTS541075A9E680) health was 53% ("Fair"), its performance was 100% ("Excellent") and its temperature was 28º C. Overview stated:

"There are 45 bad sectors on the disk surface. The contents of these sectors were moved to the spare area.
Based on the number of remapping operations, the health of the disk was decreased in different steps.
There are 376 weak sectors found on the disk surface. They may be remapped any time in the later use of the disk.
It is recommended to examine the log of the disk regularly. All new problems found will be logged there.

Power on time: 777 days, 9 hours
    Estimated remaining lifetime: 294 days
    Total start/stop count: 4752".

So, like you can see, it estimated my PC's HDD to last until the end of the year but I don't know if it's trustworthy. Anyway, I backed up my data do an external HDD.

Excellent. Glad you've taken the step to back up.

Could be you've come across a bug.

Do you have the same error, SFC not completing, in V1909?

Drives can be used until the terminal event if data is backed up.

    Performance though is often suboptimal.
For example, you may have gotten accoustomed to the slower read and or write rate.

    Consider replacing the drive:
    Crucial System Scanner

    1) Run HD Tune (free version) (all drives)
    HD Tune website
Post images into the thread for results on these tabs:
    a) Health
    b) Benchmark
    c) Full error scan

    2) Run Sea Tools for Windows
    long generic test
Post an image of the test result into the thread
    SeaTools for Windows |
    Seagate

How to use SeaTools for Windows | Seagate Support US

    These can be performed overnight:

    a) HD Tune full error scan
    b) Sea Tools for Windows long generic test

    I wasn't having it in 1909.

Sorry, but isn't it enough what I said about the Hard Disc Sentinel scan?

Each of the software have different tests and different algorithms.

Please perform the above tests unless you have already decided to replace the drive.

But they won't fix this issue, only by switching the HDD and maybe doing a clean install afterwards, I guess.

There are multiple drive tests that are not performed when using HD Sentinel.
So you get no information as the test was not performed by the software.

For example, you may want to know if the drive has failed the long generic test.
This test was not yet performed.

I'm not having this issue after a clean install.
