    Windows update problem

Guys I don’t know what to do, I tried resetting windows update with bat file made here but windows update for me says updates available but their is nothing underneath, the button to check for updates is missing, when I pause updates theirs no option to resume updates cause the button is missing as well... I open windows update and it says updates available and nothing’s happening. I put this machine in the fast ring and I can’t manually check for updates.

Try this tool then. You should run it in safe mode.

Requires admin rights (run as admin)

Try options 2 and 11 in safe mode with no internet connection. If you run it again when not in safe mode make sure that there is no active internet connection.

I'm not expert but this tool helped me many times where the batch file did not.

It's not a fresh install if you ran a batch file to try fixing things. Maybe do another fresh install.

Or try a third party app and see if that downloads and installs updates.

Solved! The problem was it was trying to reinstall the synaptics mouse dell driver even if it was already installed, I googled it, ran the show hide updates tool, hide synaptics and everything worked fine.
