I want to but don't want to get on insider to get the emulator. last time I didn't couldn't get off insident, had to wait months for a stable version or something, complete madness. I just want to download the .iso and run in VMware

Just install insider on a second partition. I'm going to try to get it loaded this weekend.

Looks nice... Contrary to what others believe - I think the phone/Android-like menu is quite cool.

    A Windows 10X ISO isn't planned

Windows 10X doesn't have a planned ISO within the near future, since it isn't considered as an upgrade from Windows 10, and would only be shipped with devices AFTER 10X has been fully released. You could try running it as a single-monitor OS within Hyper-V (if you have it enabled) using this little tutorial I found a couple of weeks ago:

If you don't have it enabled, due to not having Windows 10 Enterprise or Professional, try this:

You can always revert but it is wise to use a virtual platform. Instead of VMWare, Hyper-v can be a more performant solution. And it's free, comes included with windows 10 pro.
