Insider download

I have upgraded 8.1 to my free copy and have other systems running as insider on different systems OK
But I have a different question. :-
A friend wishes to try 10 but must retain windows 7 for work purposes
( this connects via a VPN to an international bank and they currently do not allow 10 to be used for connection)
Can one still join the insider program (now 10 is released) download and clean install with dual boot to original 7 and clean 10. If so what would be the 10 insiderkey.

No I don't think he can unfortunately. He must already be an insider or upgrade a qualifying OS and then join.

If you’re already a Windows Insider and have been running Windows 10 Insider Preview builds – there is nothing you need to do. You will automatically be upgraded or you can upgrade your build via Windows Update. If you want to get a Windows 10 Insider Preview build installed on a PC running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you should first upgrade to Windows 10 using the free upgrade offer* available to qualified, genuine Windows 7 and 8.1 devices. From there, you can opt in to the Windows Insider Program

I think you also have to be running 10162 or 10166 already to continue getting new builds (if you haven't upgraded a qualifying OS) but I can't find a link to that so it might be my imagination.

You could do this with the Windows 10 Enterprise Evaluation trial (all Insider builds for Pro and Home are trial versions with limited lifetimes).

Enterprise is virtually identical to Pro in operation, and you can join the Insider program in Enterprise, fast or slow ring,with sign-in via the MSA.

It automatically activates for the trial period of 90 days (which can be extended twice by rearms), and with new insider builds coming before that time is up, usage should last until Microsoft closes the Insider program, or the Insider decides to quit the program.

It is necessary to register (free) with Technet, and to sign in to the download page with the MSA.

There is another version of Enterprise, the Long Term Service Branch (LTSB) which is a pared down version, which probably would not be suitable.

Yes, the Insider Program is allowing us to join once more. I joined a few days ago with a new name and Microsoft account (my pen name) to separate my writing from my regular computer stuff.

I got an acceptance email from Microsoft telling me I would be notified when the next Build is available (10525).

I haven't set the computer up with my new credentials yet, but will later today.
