What happens in 2020 when the final change happens

I was in the fast ring until they jumped to 20H2 with the watermark. I reinstalled Windows completely, now running Ver. 1909 Build 18363.535. My question is: if I get back into the slow ring, what happens in 2020 when the final change happens? Do we have to start over, reformat, upgrade to the newest version, or will it carry on with what is installed?

I'm afraid the rules have changed and no one knows. Probably not even MS. My guess would be that if you are in the Fast Ring you are trapped there forever unless you do a clean install.

Yes, I read that warning, that is why I am on 1909. I guess I will ride it out and upgrade in April if it comes to that. I was sort of disappointed expecting many more changes in 20H1 like "Testing in Linux". Not worth reinstalling a bunch of things and another whole setup of Windows 20H1 to get back on the slow ring. Thanks for your quick reply. Happy New Year.

I believe that release 19041.1 will eventually become 20H1.

Yes, but, will we need to change anything? I have just settled in with other applications I need to be comfortable. It took me a few days to catch up with that alone.

I had Game Ready Drivers already installed. Nvidia 441.66. This build did not change them.

I'm on Nvidia 432.00 Driver Type DCH. Do not play games, I like the graphics for Hi Def video including BluRay and pics with depth of field.
