    Indexing Issue

    Good afternoon all,

I have INDEXING issues with my system. Even clicking REBUILD does not seems to trigger indexing to get active.

Any suggestions on how to fix ?

    Thanks !

Just tried the Search and Indexing Troubleshooter

    Hi, please see
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...search-service

Otherwise, what do you see here?
    Indexing Issue-1.png

(E.g. type services.msc in your Run box)

If you cannot get that to run after checking that's in the correct state and restarting, then you could try this tool - e.g. repair 25 only:

Is there any reason why your post repeats so many times?

    Thanks China,

    please see
Directory C:\windows\system32\config\TxR is empty, also no hidden files

Otherwise, what do you see here?
    it is "Stop Pending"
Tried rebooting / restarting / shut down again. Still "Stop Pending"

    e.g. repair 25 only:
    Will try that tomorrow.

Yes, the forum software was invaded by code viruses again. But rest assure, just fixed that bug myself a moment ago

Been fidling around a bit, ran ccleaner and was reading to try your Tweaking.com suggestion.

But then suddenly after reboot number bezilion it started indexing, took a while, and then it was completed and search works great again. !

I had this in the past! The problem is the system volume information folder located in c:... delete the contents of the folder and then rebuild, it will work!

As a blanket statement, that could be a dangerous move. There is all sorts of System Data, restore points, other sys info in that system folder, most of which is protected. Deleting, or trying to delete, all of it could cause serious problems. You should be specific in what you did to avoid others from misinterpreting and causing themselves big problems.

Got it, to be more clear...
In the system volume information folder make sure the permissions are set to administrators as that’s what it is by default, only if you tampered with the permissions. The file in thier is called indexing volume guid.

    Next navigate in the registry
    hklm\software\microsoft\windows search\

Theirs a key called crawlscopemanager, and their might be a backup as well. Deleted those keys and rebuild a new index.
