Problem with network

    Did you try turning off Password protected sharing as I mentioned above?
    Also enable SMB1 client in Add features in Control Panel Programs and Features.

    No, I haven't. I don't honestly think that's the cause of the problem because I've had it working perfectly okay before and I've never had to set permissions.. I've just been watching an interesting video and am wondering whether I should try emulating it. The only problem is, I don't want to upset my software defined radio which also relies on IP addresses. In the video, he goes to a section and changes the IP address. This is exactly what I had to do when I was setting up my software defined radio. I'm afraid that I may upset everything and then nothing will work.

    Not sure who you are responding to but I don't think it was me as I never mentioned permissions. Do give my suggestions a try.
