    Upgrade Question

    Hi again;
    With the end of life for Win7 approaching, I will be forced to upgrade to Win10.
    I have always run insider previews in VB.
    Is there a way to upgrade my Win7 to win10 without purchasing a new Prod. Key for those that have been testers (free activation code maybe?)?
    I would upgrade to newest official release not pre-view.
    I have heard mixed reviews on whether an normal upgrade will work with older win7 ver. product keys.

    Experience to date show that activation still works when upgrading.

    Whether you will succeed in upgrading is another matter- if it works, fine- if it doesn't, trying to work out why can be next to impossible unless you are lucky- witness some recent threads.

    Suggestions:
    - uninstall any security software
    - create a disk image before attempting upgrade just in case
    - check your disk and file system
    - disconnect any unnecessary peripherals
    - Try downloading a Win 10 iso file using the (search for it) MS media creation tool, then Mount the iso and from the new drive created double click setup.exe. Elect NOT to accept updates at this stage.

    The iso can be used on multiple PCs of the same base language and 'bitness'. Saves downloading for reattempts etc.

    Thank you I had heard mixed reviews on if that method still worked without new activation code.
