Notepad Launcher & Notepad.exe - "The parameter is incorrect."

I still have the built-in Notepad on my IP computer with Build18965.1000 and works fine from Start, W section, Windows Accessories. Have it Pinned on the Start [Tiles] list. Haven't been offered 18965.1005 yet, is that the Skip Ahead?

I'm glad that yours is working for you.

With mine, regardless of whether I double-click a text file of run Notepad directly I still get the same error!

The error was always mentioning the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsNotepad_10.1908.1.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe Notepad as having the problem. But I just tried opening a text file from my Desktop and the error was "The parameter was incorrect" after naming the text file.

I had done a repair install of this build to try and fix the Microsoft Store disaster but it didn't help at all. It also didn't fix this Notepad problem.

Still looking for answers!

Well, I've just done yet another repair install of this build and STILL can't use Notepad or Notepad Launcher!!

This is the sort of error I get trying to open a simple text file:-



any ideas anyone please?!?!?

I got 18965.1005 overnight and Notepad appears to be normal. However something else happened and the Edge icons don't work, show only a blank area. And right now it is running a disk check on the hard drive, a few clickings in the drive suggest I will be changing it later today.

That's progress.

I decided to do a Reset on mine last evening, got everything back along with Edge and Notepad still works.
