    insiders preview downloads too slow


    I have been trying to download and install 18950 for 11 hours so far no fault codes. Cable modem at a decent speed. task manager shows nothing else running. I had fault codes on the previous 2 releases never did get them. The entire computer has been tested and all drivers reinstalled. Everything suggested online has been done to my 3 month old alienware 17r5 laptop fully loaded. don't know where to turn. Anybody got any ideas?

    Use UUP Dump to download the ISO then use the ISO to update or clean install.

A very strange issue here. I have 2 PCs. One of them, when I do a speed test, shows TBBX1 scores between 7 and 20mbps, where-as multi-thread is correct at 55mbps (max achievable 57). Upload is also correct at 17mbps (max 20). But on my other PC...
I can always tell when Windows update is downloading updates. The entire laptop (8 GB ram and fast FIOS insternet) slows down to a crawl for most of that day. It becomes painfully slow to use. Is there anything I can do about that?
I have a PC with Windows 10 Build 10586, upgraded from 8.1. WiFi downloads are very slow on it for some reason. SpeedTest.net shows 15 MBPS, but while download a simple 5 MB image file via Chrome takes 45 minutes. Max download speed is 15 KB/s....
