Yes I know that,
but they introduced a new search feature with suggestions 2 builds ago and some people have it and some people don't..the search tools for me works with the old search not with the new search ... Check my screenshot and check the other one on this thread u will see the look of the bar is different

Hi Steven,
If it is a new feature introduced 2 builds ago that is probably when the problems started.
Perhaps there is some setting that needs to be changed to see the new feature ?
I Just tried a fresh clean install of 18917.1000 and I don't see this new search feature you are talking about.
At exactly what build level was it working with the new search ?
Default
18908 I believe...I do t see search tools but some do with the new search..probably a work in progress
Hi Steven,Showing here that 18894was the 1st announcement, but it also said it was going to be released gradually to the fast ring insiders based on the results.
Apparently that created the new bug that made the search box disappear ? No idea on how this new feature gets enabled.

Anyway, this so called 'File explorer improvement' is completely useless.
Who needs a suggestion when you do a search ?
MS needs to leave that stuff that works alone instead of adding new bugs every time they try to "improve" the actually make things worse.

New Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast+Skip Build 18922 (20H1) - June 19
Edit: Spoke too soon explorer search bar still not there, still not sorted
Still not clear how the File Explorer updated search experience gets enabled ?
I just did an upgrade from build 18362.175 to 18922.1000 and I still see the same old search bar and no dropdown with suggestions.
Personally I hate the suggestions, but I was just trying to see if MS fixed the previous bug that was reported with build 18912 where the search box was missing.
