Updating to Insider Programme Windows 10 Version 1903 (Build 18351.8)

The latest Insider Windows 10 program is Version 1903 (OS Build 18351.8) which came after 342. It installed smoothly over 342 on my Laptop and is working nicely. However on the Desktop I attempted installing it seven or eight times. It downloads and starts installing but before completing I get the message that installation failed and to try again.

I have even removed a few apps that I thought were suspect but to no effect. Up to 342 it was updating perfectly even on the Desktop. Can some knowledgeable subscriber please help. I haven't tried installing it in safe mode yet.

    Regards,

Actually 18351 is the newest for the slow lane, the Insiders in the fast lane and the skippy lane have different Insider builds. As long as the slow lane works for you then all is good.

This might interest some Windows 10 users so I am recording it. Evaluation Copy 351 of Windows 10 finally got installed on my Desktop but not by any efforts made by me. I just stopped coaxing it to install and forgot all about it. Then after 3 days it started coaxing me with messages in red, to restart the computer to install it. I did that and it got installed.

Now it appears to me that it was was failing to install in my earlier attempts because I was trying to install when it had not finished its preparatory work on my Desktop. But my surmise may be incorrect.
