Hello all . after upgrading my main PC to a ryzen system, i had to reinstall my windows insiders , which was activated on my old system, i have ram the re activation tool and i am still unable to re activate my insiders build on my new system, i have had the insiders build since 2015, and i have to PC options to re activate my insiders build both of which do no work, any suggestions would be welcomed
Losing a Digital licence occurs due to 'Substantial Hardware ID' change (mobo and network (viz. MAC) being the main culprits -- but multiple lesser component changes, like CPU's etc, can also wipe-out the number of times re-activation can takes place on the same licence)
The activation transfer can only be done with a registered DL (which I assume all Insiders have as MSA is required) but only if it was initially obtained from a Retail licence. (We have not been able to determine the original licence from the DL as yet...)
If you have the original Retail licence .. try that (as in Change product key under activation settings)

another issue - if you are using these on VM's with VMware and you've copied to new location then at first boot of the VM click the I MOVED IT option and not the I COPIED IT option. The I copied it option will genrate new hardware config which will lose previous activation.
You can normally also take a system image of OLD system and restore to new hardware via something like Macrium which will allow you to restore to new hardware - this method doesn't always prompt a reactivation prompt.
If it's a retail license you can always activate by phone if you still get activation errors - however before doing that you want to copy standard windows system to your new computer, get that activated, take an image copy and then go for the insider update(s).

Hello superfly and thank you for your response, I had to call MS and they were very helpful in reactivating my insiders edition on my VM ware, due to the 'Substantial Hardware ID' change. i was not able to use the Genuine licence that i got from MS in early Feb 2019 to reactivate my main PC windows 10 pro due to substantial changes ,
currently both my main PC windows 10 pro ( Retail ) and my VM insiders edition are both now activated

This only works with key activation (i.e Win 10 key on Win10) digital licences gives a generic key which can't be activated even by phone - also phone activation is not retail specific.

I didn't realize you had a VM (only noticed now in your screenshot the little arrows on the icons) - anyway, if running VMWare save the UUID (it can be transferred to a new VM and assume the old hardware ID)
