Thanks AndreTen - I had tried the command prompt and DEL command but I had forgotten about the /f option!
I've had this problem with my last three builds and I'm on 18836.19h1 at the moment.

    .mkv file

The issue with not being able to move or delete .mkv files has been resolved. I am currently on 18343 and there are no issues.
On previous builds where there were issues the best resolution was to install K-lite codec- basic.
    get it from
    Download K-Lite Codec Pack

    cheers

Yes, indeed in 1834x the issue has been resolved. I did not know that the codec pack would stop/avoid the Explorer locking/digging MKV files, it might come handy some time later, thanks chuxnz.

Run that Codec pack through Virustotal first, I've seen many cases of it containing adware/spyware/malware.
