Build 18305 Windows Sandbox does not work

    Build 18305 Windows Sandbox does not work


    To get Windows Sandbox working, the user must make sure that Virtualization is enabled in the BIOS and that Windows Sandbox is added in the Control Panel "Programs and Features" as a Windows "Feature". I've done all that and found "Windows Sandbox" in the Start Menu. Clicking on WindowsSandbox opens up a box asking "Do you want this app to make changes to your device?" Clicking "Yes" makes the box disappear and then nothing happens, as if all the preceding clicks were just an exercise for the fingers and hand using the mouse with no change to the computer.

    The app does nothing! I find nothing about the WindowsSandbox on the Task Manager Processes Tab, nothing on the App History Tab, and, though I might have missed it, nothing apparent on the Services Tab.

    What do I need to do use this application?

    Lenovo T440p, i7-4600M, 12 GB RAM, 250 GB SSD

    A lot of people are having problems with it (including myself).

    Make sure not to install 18305.1003 which is the CU IE update as it breaks Sandbox. If you have that installed, you could rollback.

    There is a thread here at the forum, News Section, that details how the newest update disabled the Sandbox feature.

    Not only does that update break sandbox but also breaks VMWare. Stick with the 1000 version = either roll back the update or install again from UUPDUMP or similar where you can obtain previous releases.

    If you remember, I had problems with VMware with 1000 and was fixed with 1003, but opposite with Sandbox.

    I upgraded my laptop from Core to Pro so I could play with Sandbox. Just enabled Sandbox and tried to run it and it fails with some kind of Hyper-V er3ror, so does that mean I need to enable Hyper-V as well. This is not mentioned in Shawn's tutorial.

    I'll enable Hyper-V and see what happens.

    Nope, still fails. Where are the Hyper-V Compute/Worker Event logs located?

    Win 10 Pro X64 18323.1000

    Edit: Found the logs under Event Viewer, nothing useful there at all.

    Others reporting it as still not working in 18323.1000 so I added my $.02 via Feedback.

    Not working on Build 18334.19h1 either. It was working fine on previous version.

I run the insider builds as virtual machines using Hyper V. When I updated to Build 18305 I could no longer run the virtual machine in enhanced session mode. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
