If WMP is not shown in Settings > Apps > Manage optional features (see this post), you could do a repair install (tutorial) which will most probably bring back your WMP.

I just checked my WMP and the executable file is in "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Windows Media Player". The % symbols indicate wild card as the actual Folder location will change depending upon the partition Windows is installed on. The 64-bit/x64 Notebook I'm on has it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player as it is a 32-bit program.

Is the N version even available as an Insider Preview? I'm not an Insider so wouldn't know....

Thanks for your replies, but I'm still not getting anywhere.
Try to run CMD as admin and enter:
    Code:
    Dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:MediaPlayback /Quiet /NoRestart

    Hi folks
Not an answer to the post but why these days would anybody even THINK of using Windows media player?

There's so many better options with more codecs and free -- why not VLC or KODI as two free ones for starters. There are loads of others such as PLEX, Media monkey etc.

    Cheers

Some people like basic apps for basic stuff. I like MSPaint for editing pictures and Notepad for txt, Notepad++ for example is so advanced, it refused to save my files upon exit and I ended up loosing days work.

    Hi there
nothing wrong with simple apps like notepad or even wordpad as a semi passable word processor but when the basic app won't handle a load of typical codecs used in today's multi-media stuff then it's a really easy matter to install VLC etc. In any case Windows media player is so riddled with DRM that playing anything other than most basic music is a pain.

    Cheers
