    Question about insider builds...

    I’m currently on 18298

im downloading the iso for 18290... gonna install it...

    question 1:
when i install 18290 will i have to update to 18298 sinceI’m in the insider build program

    question 2:
if I install 18290 and stop to receive insider builds, can I re enable insider builds in the future and receive them like i do now?

    Hi there

as long as the program is open you can enable insider builds. Personally I find it easier to just get the downloads via UUPDUMP or similar and then install at leisure. It also makes it easier to revert back again too as you don't have to "Unjoin" anything either or disable updates --simply restore your previous build with a tool like Macrium etc.

Note 18298 is now the current / latest build you should be using.

    Cheers

I have 2 IP computers, both are older, a Dell Optiplex 755 and a Dell Inspiron 530S SFF. I downloaded the 18290 .iso file yesterday and on the page I saved this, may be of interest to you:
    Attachment 217148
I took the warnings to heart back when I joined the Technical Preview [later renamed to Insider Preview] and used the 2 computers I had rehabbed [rescued from possible landfill]. Have done the same with a third machine now running Linux Mint.

    RE: Question 1, Yes.

Im on 18298 but theirs a bug. My profile unless I’m on local account doesn’t preload at login so it always takes time to login

You can clean install 18290 and switch to Slow ring. Nothing there yet, so you wont be offered update yet.
