    No Desktop with Insider 18252

I've tried 18252 twice and both times it completes the update and I get the desktop and all appears to work. BUT, if I do a restart when it gets to the log in screen there is just a blur for the background. It goes to the desktop but all I get is a black screen. I can CTRL/ALT/DEL and get the task manager panel OK, but still no desktop.

The Rollback function does not work either. I've had to restore from a Macrium Reflect disc image each time.

Have you tried opening Task Manager at that point, then from Task Manager using 'File > Run new task' to run explorer.exe?

Its apparently missing some files. I briefly saw two file error messages during the upgrade but not on long enough to note what they were. Not sure why as this PC is a dual boot and its running 1809 without problems, both with the previous Insider installation and my dual boot "production" installation. Hardware compatibility should not be a problem as the PC is an ASUS ROG Z170 motherboard, i7 6700K and 16GB of RAM. I'm using the Intel CPU graphics, no added video card. The Insider installation only has my recording studio program (Cakewalk Sonar) and Office 365 installed, no other 3rd party programs so its basically just the OS.

I tried the update a 3rd time and got the same thing. No desktop. I have an earlier Insider version (Macrium image) and I'm going to try that one and see what happens.

Finally, after the 4th time. I restored with an older Insider version (17728) and it finally properly completed.
I sent a insider report on the problems I had.
I'm marking this solved, but it really isn't considering it didn't properly update with either the 1809 version or the 17746 version.
