insider build 1809 17751 - Language display warning

    Hi folks

not a particular problem for me but could be for some if you install additional Languages to the base one in this latest fast ring build.

The next language to be installed gets automatically set as the default even if you don't actually want that language as default just yet !!

e.g running Windows ENG-GB version, installed ISL and now get ISL as default.

You can set it back again of course (so long as you understand the 2nd language so you can navigate the menu OK to do it !!)) but could be awkward for some people - especially in countries where 2 or more languages spoken and people aren't always conversant with both of them -- e.g Belgium with French /Flemish (Dutch).

preferred the old way - install languages and then switch manually.

    Cheers

When you add a new language, unselect this selection box:

The language will be added last on your list of languages, showing language pack is available but not installed. Select the language you added, click Options:

    insider build 1809 17751 - Language display warning-image.png

Now download the language pack, it will not be set as display language:

If the accident has happened already, wrong language been set as display language, just undo / cancel it by selecting your preferred language and move it up to top of the list. First language listed will be the display language:

    Hi there

I think I did that -- and moved ENG to top - but when I logged on again it was in ISL so I've missed something. Probably too much of "The Amber Nectar" yesterday !!! - very easy to miss some of these especially if there are small changes you don't notice.

    Anyway all fixed now.
    Thanks for the explanation.

    Cheers
