    All Insider Updates error 0x800705b4

I have an HP laptop Pavilion g6-2203sa running Windows Insider v17672. All the updates of MSAV, malicious Software Removal and Windows Insider Preview all report the error 0x800705b4 to Windows Update. I have tried every trick in the book without success. sfc and DISM report no errors. I've tried a safe boot, stopping and starting services. I've tried installing from a local download of Insider Preview with the same error. Any suggestions, please?

See here: 0x800705b4 Error in Windows Update in Windows 10 [Solved]

It's for an older elease but the steps taken still apply.

    Hi Ztruker,
I have tried all the steps suggested but still get the same error. I have also uninstalled office 2013 but that doesn't help. All drivers are updated.

Wow, it's been two and a half months since I last heard from you.

Give this a try. It has multiple things to try:

Did you download and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter?

Couldn't help but notice that the current build (17672) is an Insider from May, 2018. Not only is it very out of date, it is pre-fork, meaning it is a build from way before the first 18xxx series 19H1 Insider builds. It may not even be supported any longer, I suspect it isn't.

    1. Yes, I have run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, it made no difference.
    2. Yes, I agree, 17672 is a long way back. I have attempted to update from a downloaded later build iwthout success.
I have noted that when trying to WUP all outstandung updates, including Defender and Office, receive the same error report.
