After OS Build 17704.1000 MY Linksys Router EA4500 has no Internet

I've had my router for 4 or 5 years with no major problems. Recently within the last few Insider Program updates, my internet connection to my router has disappeared. I can't set it up or execute the router Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page. I have to remove my Router and only use my modem (Motorola Cable Modem) to connect to the internet.

Hopefully Microsoft will fix this problem in the next few IP updates.
Anyone have any info on this issue?

    Thanks.

Plug the router into the number 1 hole, not the internet plug. Open browser and type in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 this should give you a password entry box to setup the router.

Updates will have no effect on the router. What can have an effect on the router setup page is if it's running flash or JavaScript as both can be a security risk what happens when you try the setup page try more than one growers disable any av

Thanks folks for the info. I've got my router up except that when I put in the password for my associate router, it says it's invalid. I'm next to certain (99.9%) what I have written down is valid.

So the problem is how do I change it. I didn't find much in the Support Community.

    Thanks much.

Try leaving it blank or use the word admin. The defaults when you get the router are admin for username and admin for the password. Of course if you set a new username and password, it will have to be reset with a paperclip in the reset hole.

Typically, routers have a RESET button, usually on the back, which if you press and hold for a few seconds, returns the router's settings to the factory default, including default IP address, login, and password.

Typically, they don't. They DO have a pinhole reset button though. And a few seconds may need to be as much as 30 seconds. And you should make sure the router has gone through it's boot phase before attempting it.
