    Hi there

You can trace all the sites etc that average browsers use -- go into IE 11 (yes Internet explorer 11) even if you hate it -- but press F12 to get into developer debug mode and browse something easy from Google.

    Another way is

internet explorer - Open Developer Tools console by default in IE11 (without pressing F12 explicitly) - Stack Overflow

You'll be amazed at what it does.

I'm sure all the other ones are similar.

personally I don't care what data these companies "scrape" as I don't ever bother with spam type stuff, "special offers based on what you previously bought " etc etc.

In any case you can always hose up their data collection stuff by logging on to sites about things you have no interest in or can't afford to buy

e,g Ferrari's -- maybe a bank will then offer me a credit card with a 10 million euro credit limit --- if I owe the Bank 10 million Euro's IT'S in trouble !!!!!!!

    Cheers

The ad I'm finding most annoying is the use Microsoft Edge ads I receive from all the Microsoft sites (I use outlook.com for my email). Even though I click no thanks, they reappear. Ugh!
They keep resetting that. I get it with every new build. I open IE and get the switch to edge page. And if that wasn't enough I got a cumulative update for 1709 the other day and it was back. Some of my defaults got switched too. Mail was reset as default instead of Outlook as just one example.

Some say it does dot work on 17134.1 and it would also violate their terms.

The old games work fine on 17134.1. Not sure how it would be violating any terms.

    Thanks, Cliff. Got 'em!
    Wynona,

Be advised that you will have to reinstall them after every Feature Update - Windows takes them out while doing the update. Not a big deal - just a heads up so you won't be surprised when it happens.

I know it works as I am using them, as for it violating their terms , one would have to read all of it.

I think the violating terms part comes from them being modified to install on Windows 10? The winaero download etc. Not an official source etc.

Wasn't this what got them in trouble in the European Union a long time ago?

I prefer Google Chrome. I don't want constant reminders about how much better Edge is. If Edge supported profiles, I would consider using it. Until then, Microsoft is just annoying me.
Generally, I keep Edge as my default until I can't stand it's lack of what I need any more. That's when I change back to Firefox. I'm pretty sure Chrome is OK too, but I'm more comfy with FF. :)
