Can't join the Windows Insider Program

I have a laptop running Windows 10 Home (32 bit) that is up to date. I tried to join the insider program to get the Spring Creators Update and unfortunately the sign up process fails. I get as far as validating my Microsoft account and clicking the button to restart the system, and then nothing happens; it just goes back to the beginning. The system has no problem receiving Windows Updates and all of the privacy settings are stock. I recently went through this process successfully on a different PC, so I know how it works. Any thoughts on how to fix it?

Could just be a case of waiting a while, There are a lot of users out there in the Insider Program already and they are invariably hitting microsoft for their copy, (or in many cases many copies). It's usual for the servers to groan a little at this time in the life cycle.

There may well be a slow down period before the full public release where things will get worse - All I can suggest is keep trying and Once on the Ring you require, For fast delivery you only need the release preview ring and will not get swamped with often flakey builds not suitable for daily use, stay on it until the next build release in September / October

TBH, now we know how to create our own Fast/Skippy isos, you do not really need to actually join the Fast/Skippy Ring to use them. You can still use feedback hub of course. Only downside really is you always have to manually upgrade rather than relying on auto upgrades (but personally, I prefer manual upgrades anyway).

I tried that on my wife's laptop and it wouldn't accept the key. The laptop came with Windows 7 and was upgraded with the free upgrade. I had to join the Insider Ring to get it to upgrade. I did it on her desktop and my desktop and it worked. The only difference that I'm aware of is that her desktop came with Windows 10 and my desktop came with Windows 8.1.

You just skip key entry as pc is already activated.

There wasn't a option to skip. Without entering a key the next button wasn't activated. And yes Windows 10 was activated with a digital license.

There is a link 'I do not have a product key' or something like that. You click that link.

Are you sure you are trying to upgrade using correct edition eg Home normal, Home SL, or Home N?
