My Surface pro no longer displays to my monitor

    Hello,

I am part of the Windows Insider Program. I currently display the following on my home screen
    Build 17074.rs_prerelease_flt 180116-1539

I'm not exactly sure how long I have had this issue but at least several months. I use a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter connected to my monitor. All of a sudden I lost the ability to display from my Surface Pro to my monitor. Today, I went through all the trouble shooting steps, hooked up other laptops to make sure the monitor works (it does) spent a long time with a nice guy at the MS Help desk. He installed the Surface Pro Drivers/Firmware.........

Finally, he said he has done all he can to help me without reinstalling Windows. Since he saw I was on the Insiders program he suggested I reach out for help here. I'm sure this happened after a nightly software update but can't prove it. I also purchased a new adapter to day. Still not luck. My monitor is telling me it is not receiving a signal from my Surface tablet.

Any help will be very much appreciated. My neck is killing me looking down all day!
    Thanks

Welcome to the forums. Update/reinstall the graphics driver. Works for me on the surface tablets at work

    Hello again,
OK, I tried both of your suggestions and unfortunately it did not work. I keep getting the same error message from my monitor.
    - no input signal detected-

This has me baffled. Next steps??
    Be well and thanks

After installing the latest driver for the GPU, reboot without the mini dp adapter plugged in, Then plug it in and it should pick it up

    Hello Dude,

Still nothing. I've included a few screen shots to show you what I am looking at. The monitor as shown in the Device Manager shows the monitor working. All drivers have been updated per your instructions. When I go over to the Settings Page and look at System/Display it does not find it. As I scroll down to the bottom of that page you can see that the display options. I open up the drop down and select any of the options like "duplicate this display" nothing happens and the box below that says " make this my main display" remains greyed out.

No cooperation for you. Normally I avoid driver programs, but this one Snail Driver is pretty good

SnailDriver Download | Windows Driver Updater by SnailDriver

Give that a shot, it should show updates for chipset and graphics. Then try setting the monitors in the iGPU properties in the Intel control panel

Open the Control Panel for Intel® Graphics

    Good luck

Also, what brand mini display port to VGA adapter are you using. I found the MS Surface ones seem defective, I have good luck with the startech ones
