3 out of the 4 office systems updated and one failed and rolled back to 16299.68. There was no error message but the install seemed to stop at 90% just before the desktop screen appeared. I only tried once because it is an older Dell laptop and is kinda slow.

    WEK

EDIT: I re-ran Windows Update for a second time on the old Dell and it completed and installed 16299.98.

Before this update my searchbox on the Taskbar was a light grey colour. Now it looks like this:-

Any ideas how to get it back to light grey ?

It's not that long ago (after the w10 launch) that some Microsoft sites needed it to function properly.
I still use IE11 for some of the tasks that Edge doesn't seem to adopt properly. Like when I want to print a bank statement, I need to change the page setup from the file menu and put it to "Landscape". I know that one can also do it in Edge with the print settings, but the result is awful.

It appears this update is classed as a 'Feature Update'.

I have Feature Updates deferred for 28 days and Quality Updates deferred for 7. A manual update check showed nothing available and so I set Quality to zero days and ran a new check. Still nothing. Rebooted and still nothing on a manual check. Setting Feature Updates to zero immediately showed the update available on a manual scan.
Odd, but glad that worked for you. Says in the notes (Post #1):

This update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update.

The world of MS semantics! :)

Very quick and easy and no problems at all. Thanks Microsoft for all of the fun and excitement.

Hardly ever go near IE, but it's been busted here since FCU. Just a crash 'n burn every time. But according to the notes, they fixed a lot of IE/Edge WinHTTP (?) stuff, and now it runs normally. I still don't go near it much. Just the very occasional bank site that is still state-of-the-art 1998. :)
IE became a total crash fest for me right after the Anniversary update. After that I moved to Edge and never looked back.
