So far as I can tell it's been used interchangeably for ages.
Not to me. I noticed this in the creators update, which is why I'm asking if it's a recent change, and why. I mean the name, not the the whole patent thing.

Microsoft use the name AMD64 internally. See note 1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64

Oh, so Microsoft use the name amd64, but doesn't change it to x64 for intel based systems bacause they're just shifting an internal build over to public? That would explain why some of my updates are in Nordic while others are in English. Sorry if the question is off, this is kind of new to me.

Yes it's a bit confusing but the AMD64 architecture is used on both AMD and Intel chips.

Really the only thing to watch for by users in downloading the offline version of files is not to get the one for ARM64 or Server.

    Hi,

Opening up explore will show a raft of folder with AMD64 in the name. Intel has to name it this way for legal reasons but they still use both X64 and AMD64.

Prior to AMD64 Intel CPUs they (Intel) had their own range of 64 bit CPU under the Itanium name which originated at Hewleltt Packard BTW.

    Cheers,

This update seems to have screwed up the Microsoft mouse drivers a bit when using certain programs, If you select anything in a program with a horizontal or vertical scrolling bar, it will at some point jump the cursor to either the top or bottom corner of your screen. Just confirmed it as i was using utorrent

Mouse cursor jumps to top left corner randomly on 1709 - Microsoft Community

    Hi,

The app that you need to open that page is Microsoft Tips.

This is what I found on the web for this and it makes sense to me:

Click the app button, or otherwise get into the Microsoft Store.
If the store does not suggest it, search for "tips" and select the "Microsoft Tips" app.
The "Microsoft Tips" page will probably say "This product is installed.". This is what you expect. Now click the "Launch" button.
Now you will see the page that should have been displayed when you got the "you need a new app to open this".
When you go back to the "View installed update history" page, when clicking "See what's new in this update", you open the "Microsoft Tips" app.
If you have multiple accounts, you will need to do this for each account. Also, you may have to do this again after another update,
