Well if they do, they certainly didn't affect me. And I have all the current updates.

BTW I now have that "some settings are managed by your organization" warning, but it came from me disabling driver updates in the Local Group Policy Editor. Returning to the original settings will remove that warning. Also, even with that, I still have my Advanced settings, so....

Anyway good luck in finding a solution but I don't think the updates are the cause.

    Peace
Per Shawn the defer options will not show in an Insider build. I am on Release Preview so that it is why the options are missing.

Well for clarity, I don't run insiders. I'm on the standard commercial side (aka - non-insiders).

If you want to see what you are doing, copy/paste

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Into the search field at the top of Registry Editor, and press Enter. Find the 2 sub-keys in the right panel, Right click them and click MODIFY. Type what you want and click OK. To add that key to your Favorites for quick access (should you change your mind), highlight the main key in the left panel and click add to favorites up top. Call the favorite anything you want.

    Attachment 166677
    Thanks for the tip!

Just curious. You only said "Thanks for the tip", but you didn't mention whether or not ftomcat's suggestion has resolved the issue for you. I really would like to know.

My laptop auto installed the CU without issue but it was the amd64 package as opposed to the x64 package. I have an Intel CPU. Any issues. If not why does MS offer both on their catalog site? Thanks!

amd64 and x64 are one and the same

The architecture was created by AMD, who named it AMD64. Intel didn't want to build AMD64 CPUs, so they used the name Intel 64 for that exact same architecture when they copied it.

    AMD 64 versus x64

Thanks Doogie. I did a Google search after my post and MS forums said the same thing. AMD holds the patent and Intel bought rights to use this format.

Is that a recent change by AMD/Microsoft? Why not just name it x64 for Intel and amd64 for AMD like it used to regardless of patent? Or have ("Intel") behind it or something if they need to have their name blasted onto it. Speaking of which, do they really have to have their name into an update? It's really confusing for a lot of people because it literally says "amd-based systems" in the update. People may think they have an amd-based system.

So far as I can tell it's been used interchangeably for ages.
