Every time I tried to shutdown or restart my desktop or laptop I would get a green screen crash with the stop code: Memory_Management error message and the computer would restart. I had to shut down from the boot menu.. This happens with build 17035, 17040 and 17046.
Have you checked your RAM using either the built in Windows Memory Tester or better a memtest86+ bootable disk?

It's not the memory. When I go back to earlier builds I don't get the GSOD. That and the fact that it's happening on my desktop and my laptop.

You're welcome, bordi. There's a way to log the install to find failure events: Windows Installer Logging (Windows)

If it turns out to be a driver, a working one can be inserted into the install media. Thing is finding a driver that'll work. Time consuming if you like to tinker around with this kind of thing.

Do you have a second graphic card? Did you try this link, automatic or auto-detect driver update:

Thanks mate; I’ll try your suggestions over the weekend and report back

Bearing in mind my system although recognises the USB or CD with the RS-4 setup; it just will not start the setup process and just freezes with no hard disk activity, until I switch the machine off and reboot back to 16299

Updating the latest Nvidia driver for the video card didn’t help

Still got the same result freezing on the first reboot with the windows logo and no circling dots

And the usual error message on reboot

Are you checking in 16299 for Sfc/scannow for errors and running DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth. I had a problem some time back with corruption with some files and had to clean install before I could update. I’m sorry that you have had a really long siege of your problem. Sorry if this is an insult, but sometime we have to go back to basics.

Kari, no problems with outlook 2016 here, either. Stays open and no crashes.

Thanks for testing. For me it's unchanged: Outlook crashes and restarts every two to four hours, several times a day, followed by Explorer crash and restart.

You seem to have this type of problem quite often Kari. Is there any connection do you think?
