You seem to have this type of problem quite often Kari. Is there any connection do you think?
    You lost me there Keith?

I had an issue with build 17017 which made me finally to restore previous build, a native Windows driver cldflt.sys causing a GSOD an hour after every cold or warm boot. Said driver is connected to OneDrive and Office services, in my case it made OneDrive Files on Demand not working, in addition to these hourly crashes.

I then had another OneDrive Files on Demand issue in 17035 and 17040. No GSOD but FOD was not working, culprit being Macrium Reflect's Changed Block Tracker, a known issue fixed in 17046.

Now this with Outlook and Explorer. Other than that, I've not had (at least I can't remember) no similar issues. It's quite difficult to find connection, culprits are known for issues in 17017 and then again in 17035 and 17040.

Those were what I was thinking of Kari. I can't see an obvious connection either. It's just that I only see you having these cyclic GSODs.

That was only in 17017, caused by cldflt.sys. This issue now in 17046 with Outlook and Explorer crashing is annoying but not causing crashes. It only takes a few seconds, every few hours, first Outlook crashes and restarts working well again, then when it has restarted Explorer crashes and restarts.

Have you tried the Office repair local or online?

Are you checking in 16299 for Sfc/scannow for errors and running DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth. I had a problem some time back with corruption with some files and had to clean install before I could update. Iím sorry that you have had a really long siege of your problem. Sorry if this is an insult, but sometime we have to go back to basics.
Yes mate thanks, Iíve tried Sfc/scannow several times and always get no errors found
Besides Iíve freshly reinstalled 16299 umpteen times with no issues at all

The problem has to be incompatibility with RS-4 and the hardware because non of them will install further than first windows logo, even with a USB or CD fresh start

I think so too, since everything except for the GPU are discontinued products. Latest Drivers or BIOS updates came out 4 years ago. I think too much has changed internally in RS4 and some of the basic or more advanced drivers loaded during SafeOS can not communicate with Windows properly.

This could however be a temporary glitch, so I still recommend trying, until you find a build that works. RS4 builds has been really unstable or otherwise unreliable on many types of hardware. RS4 does not run well on my hardware when installed on physical machine but in a VM I have no issues at all, though being run on same hardware. ...go figure...think it's just driver stuff for me too. That is what happens when some major changes are made in internal Windows functionality. I had the same issues during early stages of RS3.

    I've tried everything!
I've come to the conclusion that my hardware no longer supports W10 higher than 17025!!!

Looks like I've reached the end of my 'Insider Trip'!!!

Edwin, does that include a clean installing a post-17025 build?

Gigabyte ga-890fxa-UD5, Phenom II x4, 4GB of RM and some ancient Nvidia GPU running just fine with 17046 right now. A friend of mine is also using it on some E4200, 775 processor with 2GB of RAM.
