Announcing Windows 10 Insider Fast+Skip Ahead Build 17040 for PC Insider

Now Build 17040 is starting the download.

I had a path to a cortana file/folder left in windows.old. The path is zero bytes and when I try and delete it, the OS says it is not there!

Updated ok. Disk cleanup got rid or the windows.old folder but left windows.old(1). Ran RD /S /Q %SystemDrive%\windows.old(1) ​in CMD Admin and that worked.

Dug out an ancient CD... while confusingly trying to throw out the flotsam I've accrued over the years, and not one to waste anything, came across Works v9. It actually works on 17040

Wow. A blast from the past. I remember having that on 98 before I bought O2000 Pro. Can't believe it runs on 17040. Did you have to use compatibility to get it to run?
