A bit off topic, but this thread is where most of the advanced users hangout:

I was doing a search in Bing, for some software I used to use years ago, and found it, but among the search results were also offers for same software(which is freemium) as a Crack Keygen***.
KeyGens, also known as "key generators" or "cracks," are small utility programs used to generate product activation keys and serial numbers, specifically for pirated programs. Using KeyGens is illegal, and if you are caught with pirated software, you could face penalties, including but not limited to, high fines.
I immediately clicked the feedback button for Bing and sent them my dislike.
Maybe more users should do this more often, huh?
By the way it was Advanced Uninstaller Pro I was looking for

I had something similar although mine was 2 complete installs (in the sense that could make 2 ISOs - the same exact byte count.

I do know what MS is trying to do with the UUP method upgrading but for some it is a nightmare. I wish MS would make the ESD method available to those of us that have problem with UUP. From my experience MS is doing absolutely nothing to correct any problems users are having with it.

Or just provide an ISO and be done with it. A GB (more or less) of download over a year would not make much difference.

Wasn't IOBIT accused by Malwarebytes of stealing their malware database?

I no longer want to deal with WU when downloading and installing a build, for quite some time now what I do is download the UUP files and create the ISO in about 5 minutes.

If you ask me, IoBit is malware in itself.

It wasn't iobit I was looking for, advanced uninstaller pro is from Innovative Solutions, they also make Driver Max, Orange Defenderf Anti-virus, and a few more: Innovative Solutions

Ok, and the answer to your question is yes, they were caught, because one of Malwarebytes fake definitions to check if someone is using/stealing their work showed up in IOBITs antimalware scanner, with the exact same name.

    Hoo boy.

Laptop installed this build perfectly fine. Desktop, though, is a whole different ball game this time around.

First iteration: The build got stuck at 86% updating, very similar to the feedback I provided a long time back on another build. After waiting for many hours, I killed it and restarted, and after a few attempts to pick up the install, it finally reverted back to build 35.

Second iteration: After downloading and installing in WU, upon reboot, it took less than 5 minutes to attempt to install, then revert to build '35 again. No dice.

Third iteration: I spent the better part of last night and early this morning making a copy of the \Users tree to another HD (because I use Kari's Move User folder tutorial to move it to my second SSD) and then copying any other data from C:\, like my UUP2ISP folder as well as a couple of others, I saw that WU had, once again, gotten the machine ready to try another install.

So, I gave it a go. And this time it worked.

BUT! I do have a caveat.

I had forgotten that when it first started to install, I had just finished working with a Seagate Bcakup drive which I had physically removed from its container and installed in my computer, only to find all partitions on it to be EXT3 format. So, I had downloaded the top three utilities mentioned in a How-To Geek blog to see what content I could find on them to recover the data for a client. All three of those were on my machine , and two were installed when I attempted the first 2 installs. Only when moving copying all the data to another drive did I remember to uninstall those utilities.

So, I'm wondering if one of them, in fact, was the cause of my issues to begin with. maybe this weekend I'll try in a VM and see.

Anyway, all installed now. Saved me from having to clean install over the coming holidays....
