    Hi there

Afraid Network is broken on this release -- can't connect to SAMBA (Linux) server. I'm running the Insider build as a VM but that's not normally an issue - I always test new releases as a VM before trying on a physical HOST machine. VM sofyware running is VMWARE workstation rel 14 -- perfectly OK - works fine - no problem there so it's definitely a Windows defect.

W10 Pro (non Insider) works fine -- computer name GREYFOX.
Samba Server (running CENTOS 7.2 as NAS server) normally has absolutely ZERO problems servicing clients - including various versions of Windows.

Running latest version of SAMBA with all fixes / updates applied.

W10 Insider -- won't connect and gives weird error message -- done loads of things but can't get the wretched computer to connect to the SAMBA server. This server is where backups run and it serves multi-media streams etc so clients need to connect --it also acts as Internet gateway from my LAN - that way I don't get problems when people use my home internet on their computers !!!.

Here's a screen shot of the problem.

    LOL!

Bandwidth is not an issue, the download comes at full speed, being the fastest part of the process. I do not have a faintest clue what it is that makes my upgrades so slow.

Checking Task Manager, it's not a resource issue. Windows Setup (Modern Setup Host) is only using 2 to 6% CPU, writing to disk really slow (3 to 8 MBps).
What ever it is my desktop has the same problem. I started downloading on my desktop first and it's now at 24%. I then started my laptop and checked for updates. I'm getting ready to make the ISO on the Laptop.

Went from 17025 to 17040 (AMD CPU) without issue, might be a little longer than normal?

Again, if you totally uninstall Macrium and reinstall without those 2 options, it will work.
    Excellent tip, Dick :)

    Thank you.

Got 17040 installed after 3 tries. Now Edge no longer has my favorites. They exist on my Lumia 650 and sync is turned on for both devices. Sync just isn't happening.

BTW, am I right that although you are F14 here, that F18 Twitter handle is yours? Or did I credit someone else?

It's me! The other was taken, that's why I tacked on the "TC"! :)

Had to ask, I have been criticized for giving kudos to wrong people. Didn't want to take credits for this, I'm happy that this time "kudos where it belongs" went right
