Thanks but the posts on the above thread all refer to failures with an Intel processor. Frankly, I don't think I will ever use an Intel processor.
That's why I said make an AMD recipe with his fix. Did you save logs?

The current canary is still build 17040 which is encouraginig. Now I'm going to eat breakfast and come back and D.S. will have released this build which will support an AMD processor
    There's always hope.

    Update:

Hey #WindowsInsiders: we were hoping to release a new Fast Ring build today, but we don't have enough data from selfhost. We shall try tomorrow.

that may be a spurious correlation as most people have intel processors. the divorce rate in maine tracks closely to the consumption per capita of margarine, but margarine eating does not cause divorce, and eating less does not prevent divorce.

people are of course entitled to use whatever cpu they want. if amd is their preference, that's fine, they must then accept any consequences, as do i by preferring intel.

OK. I always have something else to do but like others, I'm getting twitchy. I would really be nice if you could indicate whether the build would be usable on AMD machines or even if you could explain what "need more information from selfhost"" even means.

    What a tease!
It's like being a teenager, and hearing from mom: "Junior, I was going to buy you Destiney 2 today, but I didn't know if we could afford it yet. I'll go to the bank next week and see"

Why'd you even tell me ma!

Selfhost is their internal ring of MS employees that gets build candidates before the fast ring.

I built my own systems for several years, and Intel was always easier than AMD; however, when I bought laptops, I always opted for HP because of the good rep (not talking about printers here). No matter what showed up, an AMD system always gave me the most bang for my buck, so that's the way I went, and I haven't regretted it.

Until this particular Build 17035, I've never found any noticeable difference between Intel and AMD processors except for the price. Will this glitch put me off AMD processors? Nope, not at all. After all, this is a beta, even if it is called an Insider Build. :)
