I tried searching this forum and this thread specifically for the problem but did not find it so I reported the problem I was having. Also reported via Feedback Hub.

How would you search to find it in this thread? I think some times I get to specific when I do.
It was first mentioned in post #50.

Okay, but how do you search to find it?

Edit: Use of contraction caused my search to miss, rats!!!

Rt click 'This PC' then click Properties does nothing on my comp.

Doesn't matter really. If you've given a feedback like we usually do then it's ok. My feedback caused a lot of uploading

Current canary is build 17039 compiled Thursday. Build for next week likely to be 17040 or possibly 17041. Hope AMD problem is fixed.

Going back to my problem, Announcing Windows 10 Insider Fast+Skip Ahead Build 17035 for PC , sorry if I got the link wrong, when I select restart the screen shows Task Host Windows error of \Microsoft\Windows\Plug and Play\ Device Install Reboot Required. Leaving it on that screen it will automatically revert to desktop. I have to select 'restart anyway'. Once selected it reboots and works well. So a driver problem? Only thing plugged and playing on the laptop is a mouse. Touch-pad works ok and nothing showing in Device Manager.
Found the problem. It was Controlled Folder Access in Defender. Once switched off everything works as it should.

This had already been pointed out earlier in this thread.
And you have never done the same?

These threads get long and people only read last couple of days.

O...K... However, at least the percentage of folks owning Intel systems are testing. :)
Spot on - I have an AMD and cannot yet upgrade but I see no point in holding it back so some productive testing cannot be done by those who can run it.

It is absurd to hold it back for this reason.

I do think sometimes when MS know an issue is really major e.g. a drive could be wiped, they should hold it back until fixed. That is rare though

In this case MS have made entirely the correct decision holding it back for those affected, but not for those unaffected. There is no random element - either you are using AMD or not.

Why does pointing out a simple fact warrant a lecture?

It is not that statement but the delivery - it is patronising.

A more gentle "yeah we have had this posted a few times" comes over far less abrupt and patronising. Guy is only trying to make a genuine observation and your reply in effect tells him not to post without reading other posts first.
