We're all sittin here dead in the water, completely frustrated, bored out of our skulls, insulting each other and getting on each others nerves!!!
Nuh uh . . . I have plenty to keep me busy.

I just made six jars of sugar free whole berry cranberry sauce I'm getting ready to put in the canner. I canned seven pints of sugar free apple pie filling yesterday.

Just noticed that if you put Settings on the start menu there is no text on the icon. Small detail but still a flaw if anybody else can confirm

Pinned the tile and it's just the gear. It's always been that way as far as I know. Hard to say, though, for I always use WinKey/I to open.

When the Settings icon is dragged to the desktop, however, the text magically appears. Thus this is a minor bug or flaw IMHO

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Fast+Skip Ahead Build 17035 for PC-microsoft-windows-10-2017-11-16-02-44-33.pngLet's see how this goes. Again VM is in a virtual ESXi VM and is acturally (didn't make a wider screenshot) being controlled using a VMware vsShereclient in a shared rs4 VM. My wife is telling me I must go to sleep so I can the dog out to pee in morning. This opearation will complete fairly soon. It already passed through the first reboot and is on to "Working on updates". No screenshot needed fof you folks. Again however this is an update to 17025 because I have an AMD CPU

I built my own systems for several years, and Intel was always easier than AMD; however, when I bought laptops, I always opted for HP because of the good rep (not talking about printers here). No matter what showed up, an AMD system always gave me the most bang for my buck, so that's the way I went, and I haven't regretted it.

Until this particular Build 17035, I've never found any noticeable difference between Intel and AMD processors except for the price. Will this glitch put me off AMD processors? Nope, not at all. After all, this is a beta, even if it is called an Insider Build. :)
a very sensible attitude, especially the last bit. as 'insiders' we are all essentially 'beta testers' and getting advanced beta software to test for these glitches and report them for correction to MS so that they get fixed before they are released to the general public. we are thus the best of the best, and should proud of our status and be happy when we do get a whoopsy to report.

if we'd rather wait for more reliable builds we can always drop out of the insider fast ring to the slow one, or even out of insider entirely. we are in control of our own destinies. ...and macrium image backups and recovery environment are my friend too. i can revert within a couple of minutes if needed. it took me a few tries on 17035 to figure out why i was green screening and remove the offending bit of 3rd party startup software. (it was kaspersky password manager, by the way, last build it was nvidia drivers)

this forum gives us a good place to share our findings and possible fixes or work arounds so we look good when we report them to MS.

i await this weeks rs4 build with anticipation.

This is going to take a long time. Hope it finishes before build 17040 hits tomorrow (actually later today). Good night sweet nerds.
