Here's a few questions while we wait.

    Acer T690
    Legacy BIOS
    Intel Pentium D 3.00GHz
    2GB mem (maxed)
    Seagate 7,200rpm

What is USB Flash MemoryPMAP? Does that have to do with memory mapping? That's what the Acer BIOS recognizes it as. The only info I could find was this: pmap(9) - OpenBSD manual pages

The only ISO-burned USB thumb that the Acer recognizes is one that I make with Rufus. It does not recognize one made with MCT. Why is that? Partition table type perhaps?

When I boot it up > F12 for boot choice > Choose the thumb > The Start flag screen appears and it takes 5 or 6 minutes for the OOBE screen to appear. Is it loading files into memory?

I used Clover in the past, but then I found 2Xplorer (now called Xplorer˛ Lite) and its bigger brother, Xplorer˛. Once I bought that along with a lifetime license, I never looked back.

Still, though, for a more purist approach, Clover is really, really good. But the bells and whistles I get with Xplorer^2 far outweigh the ~$60 USD I paid.
No just a factual statement why should they rush they are not 30 days behind schedule as they were with the FCU--FACT:)

@Kari. Finally got your script to finish on the old Acer, Kari. It finished at a whopping record of 01:26:50:17. It took 01:22 to save the image and I'd imagine the rest was verifying.

Somewhat outdated specs (no offence meant!) explain the time it took.

About the WIM file, I am wondering the size of it. Could you please tell if the space used (excluding Windows itself) is mostly user data on profile folders, or installed third party software?

Yes, it's an older secondary system that I tinker with. Very slow. No offense taken.

Hardly any personal files on this partition.
The Windows folder is 14.6 GBs
My user folder is 2.5 GBs
    Program Files folder is 1GB

Something doesn't seem to add up if it's 27GBs in FE.

As you said I'm sure your answer was No, thank you for testing but you just inadvertantly left of the subortinate clause.

Any here's a test I'm going to begin using a Gen2 Hyper-v Quick Create. The initial state of the disk is attached.Announcing Windows 10 Insider Slow Build 17025 for PC-hyper-v-file-explorer-properties-1-.png

I am sorry to inform you that you are wrong. My reply contained everything I wanted to say.
